Ektara is an instrument popular among bauls and fakirs of Bengal. This single stringed instrument is made from coconut shell, with two vertical bamboo strips on the sides. The player alters the width between these strips to create different tones. Our model is a real instrument, fitted with the string, and a warli printed shade atop. The model thus combines two different art forms.

Being handmade there can be variation between models.
